"Did you know that your Baby Boy is Heaven's perfect Lamb? The sleeping Child you're holding is the Great, I Am." The Pender Choir sang an arrangement of this Christmas Carol Decemand as part of the 2015 Christmas Cantata. We forget He delivered us by grace and, instead, let guilt and feelings of inadequacy overwhelm us. We forget He created the world-think about that-and, instead, try to drown Him out. We forget how He calmed a fierce storm with His words and, instead, think He can't handle our problems. We know the man He became-the Savior.īut do we act like we know? Mary didn't fully understand what the future held or how her innocent Son would die for sinful people, but we can look back and read about it. We know about Him giving sight to the blind and calming the storm. Today's audience knows all about Jesus-or can know about Him by reading the Bible. The best part about the song, though, might be the audience. ![]() Sometime after the song became a hit, Mark once said, Gloria Gaither pointed out that it should be "Mary, Do You Know?"-but he laughs about it today and says "did" sounds better anyway. While Michael English and Kathy Mattea were the first to record it, it has since graced the lips of dozens of artists-people like Vickie Winans, Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd, Cee Lo Green and a cappella group Pentatonix. It wasn't until seven years later that Buddy Greene wrote the music and sang it for Mark over the phone. Singer, songwriter and comedian Mark Lowry wrote that song back in 1984, inspired by a Christmas program he was working on for church. This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you. Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?ĭid you know that your Baby Boy has come to make you new? Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water? But that night in Bethlehem, when the promised Messiah finally came in the form of a helpless baby, there was a lot His mom didn't know. You might have heard the phrase "A mom knows." Maybe from your own mom. Here's some background on "Mary, Did You Know?"-and something to think about when you hear it. But there's a more modern song-well, modern in terms of Christmas tunes-that considers the story of Jesus from the view of the very woman who brought Him into this world. A lot of Christmas songs you hear on the radio date back to the '40s and '50s. ![]()

![]() ![]() The Layers tab displays all the members of the WMS service. However, ArcMap uses the more descriptive tag from the capabilities file to populate the layer name for the table of contents and the General tab. This is because the text used for the layer name on the Source tab is taken from the tag in the WMS service capabilities file, which is the file used to describe the service. The layer name shown may not be the same as what is in the table of contents and on the General tab. This includes the capabilities of the sublayer (whether the layer supports Identify), whether a legend is available for the sublayer, the default coordinate system, and a list of server-supported coordinate systems for this particular sublayer. You can get information about each WMS sublayer from the service sublayer properties Source tab. The service layer properties Source tab displays information such as the map extent, data (service) type, URL, service name, and default coordinate system of the service. Getting information about the WMS service layer When a WMS legend is available but is not displayed in the table of contents, you can view the legend on the Styles tab of the WMS sublayer's Layer Properties dialog box. These layers are therefore listed in the table of contents without symbology and without expansion controls. When the image received for a layer in a WMS service exceeds this limit, no legend is displayed for the layer. ArcMap also places a limit on the size, height, and width (in pixels) of an image it will display in the table of contents. Although ArcMap supports legend entries with multiple symbols in its table of contents, ArcMap expects these entries to contain multiple images, one image per symbol. ![]() With WMS services, the legends for layers are transmitted over the Internet as one image containing all the symbols. This usually happens when the legend for a layer contains multiple symbols, such as a transportation layer displaying symbology for the different types of roads. Sometimes the size of the legend specified by the server is too large to be displayed in the ArcMap table of contents. ![]() The size of WMS legends can vary greatly. For each additional layer, it is an additional request to the server. The legends for the layers in WMS services are all hidden by default, since accessing a legend for each layer in a WMS service requires sending a separate request to the server. When a WMS service includes legend information, you can view the WMS sublayer's symbology in the table of contents by clicking the expansion control next to a sublayer. These layers will be listed in the table of contents without expansion controls next to them. When legend information is not available, no symbology is shown for the layers in the table of contents. Some WMS services do not include legend information about the symbols used by the layers in the service. This line prohibits you from inserting a layer within this service (group) layer or breaking apart the service layer into its constituent sublayers. WMS group layers do not hold any map layers-it is the third group, WMS sublayers, that actually contains the map layers. There is at least one WMS group layer, but there can be any number of WMS group layers (and even nested groups within groups). The next level is WMS group layers, whose only function is to organize WMS sublayers into related groups. At the top is the name of the WMS service, which holds all the WMS map layers. When added to ArcMap, the WMS service layer's entry in the table of contents is contracted to save space, but you can expand it and its groups to see the individual layers it contains.Ī WMS service layer is made up of three entries that are arranged hierarchically in the table of contents. Following are some common tasks for working with WMS service layers. 11/20/2022 Hey sister could you possibly provide me with a link to that particular video thank youRead Now![]() ![]() Below, I will put islands I wish you would use on Haxe. its got temples, natural beauty, and ancient ruins from early poptropica, so it's like you can visit the old islands even though you can't play them! you won't find it, cause i havent finished it yet but I promise I'll post the code soon as i finish it. I noticed when I was on there that there are no realms! please bring it back! To let people enjoy realms while it lasts, I built a realm called the world of Poptropica. Having the friends page on there would be great, but maybe a version that's available on Haxe would be realistic? 2. It's ok if you don't use all my ideas, but please don't ignore this comment either. Hi poptropica! I know you're juggling requests right now, but I took a quick look at what poptropica is gonna look like after flash is gone, and I really appreciate you trying to keep poptropica going, but I do not like this version! I have a couple ideas about what to do. ![]() As for the islands, I hope that we get all the islands back and will look forward to the newer islands in the future. Most likely, the technicians would send us regular users when it is safe to do so. I understand that it does seem unfair, but it would not be safe if a lot of Poptropica players were playing on the Old Islands while the converting process is at its early or critical stages. Think about it: If we got access to the new islands and there were severe problems, we would have lost those islands completely. As for the members-only to allow to play on the old islands is that I think that if the technicians are working on the conversion process, the members would be able to test those new parts just to see if that process is working okay. Some of the islands that did not showed up could be due to the technicians working on converting the islands and do not want people to play on those islands. The reason why members are only allowed to access the old islands is that the converting process can limit a certain amount of people to play on the old islands. So please, return the home page to the old design and make all of the old islands available for everyone. You can't do practically anything on there without having a membership. Daily questions, tribes, special tribal common rooms, photos for every island, and the ability to view your and your friends' achievements. Please return to how the website was a couple of years ago. I am really ashamed by you, Poptropica programmers. I am beginning to think that you programmers only care about money from memberships and not what all of the players (Free players and Members) want and think. Why on earth would you deny old-time players access to their childhoods with needing to pay?! It makes absolutely no sense! Why would you have restricted access to pirate battles, cryptid hunting, and ninja training, and have adventures such as tracking down a lost pair of pants available for everyone?! Come on! Almost all of the best islands are the classic ones. Until I found out they are for members only. When the old islands were removed, I was very upset, so naturally, when I heard they were back, I was really excited. ![]() I have been playing Poptropica since 2012 or 2013, and I absolutely loved the old islands such as Skullduggery and Twisted Thicket. ![]() ![]() ![]() It very well may be somewhat interesting to discover as it’s wrapped up on a cliffside close to the waters yet is ludicrously simple to tackle. ![]() For me personally it's a very exciting project and I'm very much looking forward to getting it finished and seeing it published.Ĭhris Sawyer: Day-to-day activity varies quite a bit here. I think as the newer versions of RollerCoaster Tycoon have moved on in terms of style and gameplay there's now a gap in the market for the original "classic" version of the game with its unique graphical style and more simplistic gameplay, and the success of Transport Tycoon has shown how well the mobile and tablet touch-screen interface suits this style of game. But with the success of Transport Tycoon on mobile and with the experience and willingness of the small team from Origin8 to continue working for me it was looking a lot more feasible, so they're working with me to create a very faithful conversion of the original PC game. First up, what are you working on right now?Ĭhris Sawyer: My "pet project" at the moment is an ambition to bring my old PC game RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 to modern mobile and tablet platforms - not an easy task given that the original game was written in low-level x86 assembler code which only works on the PC. Thanks for agreeing to answer our questions. Here's the result: a chat with Chris Sawyer, the creator of RollerCoaster Tycoon, about pretty much everything. I don't normally go for email interviews, but it seems this is our only option, so I agree. It's not that he doesn't do interviews, I'm told, it's just that he'd prefer to answer questions over email, via an intermediary. In the process of setting this interview up, Sawyer is described to me as a "very private person". What's he up to these days, I wonder? How hands-on - if at all - is he in development? Why do his games continue to enjoy such a passionate following, so many years after release? And, what does he think of what Atari's doing with RollerCoaster Tycoon? So, it's an interesting time, I think, to interview Chris Sawyer. Again.Īll this as Frontier works on Planet Coaster, a promising-looking rollercoaster management simulation many RollerCoaster Tycoon fans have pinned their hopes on. And the in-development RollerCoaster Tycoon World has suffered what looks like a troubled development, with negativity surrounding the quality of the game, delays, and a new studio at the helm. It was so bad, we awarded the game 1/10 in our review. But these games have, so far, been poorly received.Ītari's RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile game was a micro-transaction-riddled disappointment. And what of RollerCoaster Tycoon? Atari, which was once embroiled in a legal battle with Sawyer over unpaid royalties, currently licenses RollerCoaster Tycoon from Sawyer in order to make new games in the series. Sawyer went dark for a decade, resurfacing in 2013 to release a mobile version of Transport Tycoon alongside a small development team called Origin8. That same year, Sawyer released Locomotion, which he called the spiritual successor to Transport Tycoon.Īnd then. 2004's RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 was the work of Elite: Dangerous maker Frontier. It's at this point that Sawyer let go of RollerCoaster Tycoon's development reigns and allowed others to have a go at steering the carriage. Despite partnering with publishers such as Hasbro, Sawyer retained ownership of the RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise, and, reportedly, made a killing as its success grew. And so his next project became RollerCoaster Tycoon, which released in 1999. While plotting a Transport Tycoon sequel, Sawyer fell in love with roller coasters. An expanded and improved version, Transport Tycoon Deluxe, launched just a year later. MicroPose picked up Transport Tycoon, released it in 1994, and scored a hit. ![]() His idea was to take Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon further by combining its gameplay elements with his isometric code to create a new kind of map. In the early 1990s, while converting Amiga games such as Elite Plus, Frontier Elite 2, Birds of Prey and Dino Dini's Goal to the PC, Sawyer created his first management simulation game, Transport Tycoon. ![]() And yet, despite this radio silence, Sawyer's games are as fondly remembered now, over 20 years later, than they ever were. The inventor of RollerCoaster Tycoon seems happy to let Atari build new games in the much-loved strategy series while he gets on with other, pressing matters, such as riding real-life roller coasters and helping out at his local school. These days Scottish video game programmer and designer Chris Sawyer flies under the radar. ![]() ![]() ![]() Consider hiring an ethical hacker to find vulnerabilities before the bad guys do.
